Just like my dad, mom, and sister, Art has always been a big part of my life. For my mom, it is her Jewelry that has kept her going, for my dad, photography is his life, while my sister has written many poems and stories. For me, Art has been all about drawing and writing songs.
I am the only one in my family who practices the art of writing music. While music has always been in my life, it is only recently I have taken to writing songs. I have begun writing music about my life, people struggling and world problems. Even though I have just begun, writing my own songs gives me great joy. I know I will keep writing music for many more years to come.
The second type of art I do is regular, natural, pure art. To date, I have done many art projects. When I was in 3rd grade, I started making journals whenever I went on a trip. Now, when I look back to my very first journal I realize it was worth all that effort. I can now see everything I have done on every trip. Besides journals, I have also dabbled in sculptures and drawings. One of the types of art my mother showed me was called ‘Altered Books’ where you take a regular board book and paint and decorate it any way you please. I have made many altered books along side my mother. Today, I have over a dozen altered books and still going!
Art is a big part of my life and I plan to keep it this way as long as I can.
